AIR PURIFIER AND IONIZER – ECOLOGICAL WAY TO INDOOR AIR PURIFICATION

Air purifier and ionizer are used to improve the indoor quality of air circulating in the rooms. An air ionizer creates ions which remove microscopic. Air ionizer creates the ions which in turn help to purify the air. An ion is a charged particle that carries either a positive or a negative charge. The ions generated by the air ionizer flood the room and forms a bond with the positively charge particles like dust or micro-organisms. This reaction makes the dust particles and other micro-organisms heavy to float and in turn the dust particles settle down on the ground which can be easily cleaned.

Indoor as well as outdoor pollutants have become major concern due to various health related problems which they cause. Even the air conditioning ducts are highly prone to support the growth of microorganisms as well as collection of dust. An air ionizer mainly helps to control such pollutants and odour at home and office.

The ozone created by negative ions controls pollutants by breaking them down into smaller, harmless components. The Ozone creates an environment in which the germs cannot thrive. Additionally, the ozone helps in deodorizing the environment as well.

Air purifiers and ionizers are considered to be the cost effective. This is because Air ionizers, unlike fan-driven air purifiers, conserve power and run silently. Another advantage offered by the air purifier and ionizer is the filter replacement problem. Since the Air ionizers do not have any air filters mounted in them, there are no costs involved in filter replacement. Also their compact design makes them suitable to be placed anywhere as desired.

Though the air purifier and ionizer and the air filter both serve the same function of purify the air around your surroundings, both differ based on their working mechanism.

An air purifier and ionizer generated negative ions which in turn combine with the pollutants present in the air, making them heavier then the air and as a result they settle on the ground and can be easily cleaned in a normal way.

Filters, in contrast, have specifically designed mesh structure which retains the dust particles and allows the dust particles to pass through. This results in accumulation of the dust particles over the time and reduces the efficiency of filter. Thus the filter requires replacement at a fixed time interval for it to work efficiently. This is not the case observed with the Ionizer as there are no filters present in the ionizer.

Many a times Air ionizers as well as air filters are used in conjunction to each other in order to have a better quality of indoor air and are mainly used as allergic relief purifier. People around the world consider as having an air purifier as a necessity as neglecting this aspect can lead to settling of the dust particles in lungs thereby causing various respiratory diseases and other allergic syndromes.

Almost all air purifiers and ionizers functions similarly to serve the common purpose of air purification. Selection of an air purifier is a very easy process and can be done once you have sufficient knowledge on different types of purifiers.
